We were lucky enough to go to the Garden State Comic Fest in West Orange, NJ on June 28 to 29th . What an amazing time. Great artists, writers, creators, and a con that cares about comic books and their fandom. A real pleasure and I look forward to going again next year. Here are some memories.
Here are some of my comics book haul. I could buy that New Gods #7 everytime I see it for a good price.
Here are my commissions. Question from the amazing Tom Mandrake. Ambush Bug by wonderful Joe Staton, Big Barda by the master Colleen Doran. Hawk Family by the prolific Ken Landgraf.
Some Zatanna Cosplay.
One of my good friends and comic illustrator Nikkol Jelenic. Buy her stuff!
Barbara Friedlander worked on so many Silver Age titles. A real treat talking about her career.
I've bought more than a few comics with covers by
Chrissie Zullo-Uminga. And a really nice person. Some Golden Age books. I should just start buying them.
This poodle though.
Tom Mandrake was amazing to talk to. What a charming human being. I also enjoyed talking to his wife Jan Duursema (did not know they were married) and child Sian Mandrake.
Always love seeing Joe and Hilarie Staton. Two of my favorite people in the world. No joke.
Ken Landgraf is a bad ass illustrator. I bought New York City Outlaws from him, and enjoyed greatly speaking to him. Experiences like that are why I love concon's.
I didn't take any pictures of Paris Cullins, who is another of all time favorite people to talk to. Just an amazing time was had. Can't wait for next year.
